Honey & Bees
We produce finest quality honey here at Staithe Farm. Early in the season, usually late May, we have some unheated, commonly called raw honey and because Spring honey sets fairly rapidly, the heating of our runny honey is always kept to a minimum. We sell only one pound jars (454g) and the current price is £6.50. In these days of shrinkflation many outlets are selling three quarter pound jars for the same price. All our honey comes from our own hives as we do not buy in any honey. As one of the most adulterated foodstuffs sold worldwide we are confident that we are selling an excellent product at a very fair price. Selling at the door only, we do not supply any shops, we don’t need to as we sell out every year! If you’d like to purchase our honey contact us and we can arrange a suitable time and day for you to collect.
Here at Staithe Farm we usually create some extra nucleus (nucs) colonies each year as our students on the two-day courses are usually keen to get started with their beekeeping, but on occasions we do have a few nucs that are surplus to our needs. If you are after a nuc of bees please feel free to contact us and we will advise you what we have available. We do wish to sell our colonies to people with some beekeeping experience because we encourage inspection prior to purchase as all our nucs are sold as seen.
